Back soon!

I have been busy preparing to travel to Peru for 4 weeks, starting very soon. I've been spending the last few months developing all the B&W film I've had hanging around, and processing and going through the back catalog of photos I've had. This has led to 4 enlargements to 20x30 which are now hanging in the house and at the office. I'm looking to enlarge another 4-6 pictures and then start looking for locations around town that will accept the pictures for a gallery showing or to put on display.

Black and White Photography

I've re-discovered film photography, after the recent realization that digital is disappointing when it comes to actually making prints.

San Francisco

I was in San Francisco for a week, and slimmed down my photography equipment for the chance to carry everything onto the plane in one shot. So, I took my camera and a 50mm F/1.4 prime lens instead of the usual 24-70 zoom lens.

August 7, 2010 update

Well, I've been making good progress on the website so far. I have updated the theme to something much more unique, and from this place I plan to customize the layout, colors, photos, and everything else to create a more personalized layout.

Photo Walk Madison

Every year World Wide Photo Walk has a local photo walk in Madison. I attended the "sold-out" afternoon walk starting from the Memorial Union, and walking down to the Allen Centenial Gardens and back. The walk took a total of 2 hours, and below I highlight a few of the photos I took on the walk. I went with my friend Tony Duckles

Summer 2010

Working on this website has gotten lost in all the other activity of catching up on a backlog of about 2 years worth of photography, and on the start of Spring and all that comes with a change into the growing season. A few months back I began working on a new website for Rebecca Pozorski, at rebeccapozorski.com. Although the new website has not been swapped in for the old, some time in the next few months it will replace the existing template site she was given after graduating from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Abundance

I've been hosting CouchSurfers at my house for around a year now, and with the exception of one instance of disappointment, I've always come away with hearing amazing stories and collecting great new friends. The same is true of my experiences while traveling and CouchSurfing as a guest. The community on CouchSurfing has the right ideals and life paths, so it's hard to go wrong with only a little investigation into who you host and where you stay while traveling through the network.

Mountain Splendor

My breath choked out of me as I finally had enough courage to stick my head out of the tent. It was bitter cold, and my breath was like a turtle in danger, it just didn't want to come out. But I smiled anyways for no reason at all, as I looked around at all the snow and the circling tracks around where we were calling home for the day.

Winter 2009 Update

Dear Friends,

I'm spending the winter getting my writing in order and learning how to submit stories for publication. This website is part of that task of becoming a "writer", and over the Winter I plan to add content and put some of my past material onto the site. I'm typing this from my new office set up at the house, where I plan to be able to write and be creative more effectively than in the past. The main draw to the new office is I can stare out the window at the backyard and see the sun rise in the mornings when I choose to get up early and work.
